***Applications received from current OHSU Employees within the first 7 days of this posting will be given preference***The position guides clients and their families through the continuum of HIV related care and provides key services to include: screening for psycho-social and determine current needs; assess for benefits eligibility; provide information and referral; facilitate coordination of community services; and advocacy and education in conjunction with a multi-disciplinary team.Qualifications
Two years of social service work experience providing supportive counseling to clients on a one to-one basis which includes full responsibility for handling each case plan; AND A Bachelor-s degree, or three more years of experience which shows: a) knowledge of casework methods and techniques; b) knowledge of patient-s family-s rights; c) knowledge of medical terminology; and d) knowledge of implications of the effect of illness, injury and/or disability on patients and families plus a minimum of 2 years of applicable HIV clinical experience in one of the following areas: Community Health, Case Management or Social Services. Bilingual Spanish candidates are preferred. Schedule and Salary Range

Description
***Applications received from current OHSU Employees within the first 7 days of this posting will be given preference***This position provides counseling to patients of the OHSU HIV clinic on psychosocial matters, including drug and alcohol use, mental health issues, etc.; develops patient education and support tools; implements screening and referral program for homeless HIV clients at OHSU HIV clinic; identifies mental health needs assessments and develops protocol for ongoing assessment of patients co-infected with Hepatitis C. The position works with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, medical assistants, pharmacist, and researchers.Qualifications
Position requirements include a Master-s in Social Work (MSW) and 3 years of social service work experience providing supportive counseling to clients on a one-to-one basis which includes full responsibility for handling each case plan; previous experience with counseling in a clinical setting; knowledge of medical terminology; and knowledge of implications of the effect of illness, injury and/or disability on patients and families. Preference will be given to LCSW-s and candidates with health care experience. Schedule and Salary Range
